Have you ever been curious about trying therapy outdoors? Are you interested in how nature can support our healing? Do you love High Park and enjoy spending time there?

If yes, this program might be for you!

High Park ecotherapy

Benefits of Ecotherapy can include…

  • Supporting cognitive and emotional development (increases calmness in the nervous system, promotes problem solving, stimulates creativity)
  • Offering tactile experiences and enhancing senses
  • Promoting autonomous movement and exploration
  • Lowering blood pressure, reducing cortisol, and increasing immune system response
  • All sessions will take place at High Park, Tkaronto (Toronto), Ontario.

  • You get to choose whether we use a paved path or a forest trail (or sometimes the weather may choose for us), and we will collaborate on a walking pace that feels good for us both.

  • A session could look like a regular talk therapy session that takes place outdoors instead of inside, or we can also take the opportunity to interact with nature, tune into your senses, and practice skills that we may not be able to replicate in the indoor space.

  • While we cannot eliminate all risk of injury due to the unpredictability of nature, I take precautions to keep us safe on the trail, including always carrying a first aid kit and extra water. I invite you to bring anything that might make your session feel safer or more comfortable.

  • Click the link to the right to go to my portal, where you will see an option for booking a consultation. We will first connect for a free 20-min consultation to make sure ecotherapy feels like the best fit for you. Next, we will do an initial intake session either virtually or at my in-person office to gather your relevant history in a more private space. After this, we will head outdoors together for future sessions!
