Registered Psychotherapist (RP, MA, DTATI)
Hi, I’m Maddy Tripp (she/her)!
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist committed to helping adults learn how to build fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. In my work, I hold space for the parts of you that may feel overwhelmed, self-critical or disconnected, especially if you’re someone who appears to be managing on the outside while struggling internally. My approach is shaped not only by my training, but also by my lived experience navigating body image challenges and the pressure to meet internalized expectations. Because of this, I bring a deep respect for the ways people adapt to survive, and a focus on supporting you in building a more compassionate, regulated and authentic relationship with yourself.
My approach is relational, collaborative and informed by attachment and nervous system regulation. I integrate modalities such as IFS, ACT, Emotion-focused and Somatic-focused therapy into my work. I also offer Art Therapy for those who feel less connected to traditional talk therapy. Drawing from my training at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, I support clients in using creative processes to access and work through experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Across my work, I take a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, supporting you in reconnecting with your inner resources, easing emotional burden and cultivating a more grounded and balanced way of living.
Outside of the therapy space, I enjoy engaging in creative and self-nurturing activities like collaging, interior decorating, gardening and reality TV.
The folks I’m passionate about working with…
Individuals navigating high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, chronic self-criticism or that persistent “never good enough” feeling, even when things may look okay on the outside.
Those working through body image concerns or a complicated relationship with food, often shaped by early experiences, family dynamics or beliefs about self-worth.
People experiencing burnout, overwhelm or nervous system dysregulation, especially when it feels difficult to slow down or give yourself permission to rest.
Individuals exploring OCD, intrusive thoughts or feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to step outside of.
Folks navigating ADHD, AuDHD or other forms of neurodivergence, where masking and holding it all together on the outside can leave you feeling overwhelmed or depleted in your day-to-day life.
Clients processing developmental, relational and attachment trauma who are beginning to shift patterns like people-pleasing, difficulty prioritizing their own needs or challenges with self-trust.
Those interested in integrating creativity and experiential approaches, such as Art Therapy, as part of their healing process and self-exploration.
