Queer & Trans Affirming Therapy in Toronto

When should you seek support with exploring gender and sexual identity?

Navigating our relationship with gender and sexuality can be both a liberating and painful journey. Sometimes coming out as queer and/or trans can feel like a very isolating experiencing, particularly when we lack supportive community who can celebrate and affirm our experiences. Intersecting identities of race, culture, body size, neurodivergence, etc., can lead us to also experience marginalization and misattunement within queer community, and even make us question our sense of belonging. We may also not know where to start when thinking about coming out, dating, transitioning, and community building.

In therapy, we support folks in providing an affirming landing space to explore these topics and process the various emotions that can arise with these experiences. We take an intersectional approach that honours all unique aspects of your identity, and understands how this may impact your experience in coming out and finding community. Therapy may also involve the practical support in navigating the healthcare system and finding community resources for connection.
